Aubin Leslie Nichols Obituary (1926 - 2009)

Mr. Aubin Nichols, 83, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 5:50 P.M., Thursday, November 26, 2009 at his residence. \ He was born May 26, 1926 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Raymond and Ethel Williams Nichols. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers. \ Mr. Nichols was a member and Deacon at Pond River Missionary Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. \ He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Merrell Nichols of Madisonville; one daughter, Debbie (John) Higgins of Madisonville; three sons, Richard (Dianne) Nichols, Tim Nichols and Anthony (Tammy) Nichols all of Madisonville; one brother, Edwin Nichols of Palmyra, IN; seven grandchildren, Jeff Higgins, John David Higgins, Connie Conover, Ricky Nichols, Jill Nichols, Kristy Patterson and Aaron Nichols; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. James Watkins and Bro. Ron Doss officiating. Burial will follow in Browder Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Ricky Nichols, Aaron Nichols, Tyler Conover, Ethan Trotter, B.J. Patterson, Jeff Higgins, Dave Conover and Bryer Gibson. \ Graveside Honor Services will be conducted by American Legion Post #6 of Madisonville, American Legion Post #2 of Earlington and VFW Post #5480 of Madisonville. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
