Barclay Benett McCoy Obituary (1950 - 2016)

Barclay Bennett McCoy, 66, of Madisonville, KY passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Summerfield Healthcare in Brentwood, TN. Mrs. McCoy was born June 20, 1950 in Winchester, TN to the late Loel Bennett and Sara Louise Donaldson. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Alan McCoy and a sister, Betty Don Henshaw. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University in 1972 with a degree in Environmental Engineering. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville where she served on the board of trustees. She was on the Madisonville Municipal Airport Board. She was a member of the Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women where she was a past president. She was a board member for the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers. She was past chairperson of the Madisonville Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce. She was also past member of the Associated Industries of Kentucky. She is survived by two daughters, Meredith (Travis) Quigley of Brentwood and Dr. Carrie (Colin) Menser of Brentwood; four grandchildren, Isabella and Declan Quigley and Jackson and McKay Menser all of Brentwood; brother in law, Andy Henshaw of Decherd, TN; one niece, Lisa (Jon Paul) Wallce of Winchester, TN; and great nephews, Andrew and Jonathan Wallace. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville with Dr. Dale Carden and Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from noon until service time on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be Colin Menser, Travis Quigley, Mike Baumgardner, Joe Evans, Doug Berry, Jon Paul Wallace, Mitch Miller, and Doug Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Bowles and Andy Henshaw. Memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
