Betty June Parkest Obituary (1943 - 2015)

\ Betty June Bowles Parkest, 72, of Madisonville, KY, passed away, Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. \ \ Betty was born on February 16, 1943 in Hanson, KY, to the late Jesse Pratt Bowles and Alma Lee Roberts Bowles. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Vanover and two brothers, Jerry Bowles and Roger Bowles. \ \ She was an X-Ray technician at the hospital for over 33 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, was a loving mother, grandmother and was a very giving person. \ \ Betty is survived by one daughter, Shelia LaMarr of Hanson; one son, Tim (Carol) Parkest of Hanson; three sisters, Penny Bowles and Linda Bowles both of Hanson and Monty Bergeron of New Hampshire; three brothers, Randy Bowles and John Bowles of Hanson and Jesse Bowles of Manitou, KY; five grandchildren, Scott Schroader, Charity Phillips, Hailey Parkest, Matthew Parkest and Katheryn LaMarr and two great grandchildren. \ \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Mr. Taylor Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and from 12:00 P.M. until the service time on Monday. \ \
