Carlene Vickers Obituary (1909 - 2010)

Mrs. Carlene Vickers, 100, of Madisonville, KY, passed away at 9:45 P.M., Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville. \ She was born July 18, 1909, in Hopkins County, KY to the late James Hartford and Minta Lane Lutz Locke. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Raymond Vickers in 1987; six brothers, Bernice Clayborn Buddy Locke, Oscar Lee Locke, Donald Dallas Locke, James Hadden Locke, Bea Averitt B.A. Locke and Harvey Lane Locke and one sister, Helen Curtis Locke. \ Carlene was a surgical nurse at Hopkins County Hospital. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. \ She is survived by several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \
