Cora K. McLemore Obituary (1915 - 2014)

\ Mrs. Cora K. McLemore, 98, of Madisonville, KY died at 11:30 P.M., Saturday October 18, 2014 at NHC Health Care in Madisonville. \ \ She was born October 31, 1915 in Coal Valley, AL to the late David Kirkwood and Annie Barrentine Kirkwood. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas McLemore, by her son, Jerry McLemore, two sisters, Margaret Wilkerson and Lelia Flenor and one brother, Maurice Kirkwood. \ \ She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville and was retired from Ligon Specialized Haulers. \ \ She is survived by two daughters, Pam Crain of Dawson Springs, KY and Cherrie Christian of Madisonville. A daughter-in-law, Donis McLemore of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Patsy Chiasson of Thibodaux, LA; seven grandchildren; William Lathem, Kristal Richardson, David Christian, Derrick Christian, Jeff McLemore, John McLemore and Suzanne Shebelski and ten great grandchildren. \ \ Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday October 23, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, KY. \ \ Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be William Latham, John McLemore, Jeff McLemore and Derrick Christian. \ \ Memorials may take the form of donation to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
