Coy Vandygriff Obituary (1938 - 2015)

Coy Vandygriff, 76, of Hanson, KY passed away, Monday, May 25, 2015 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. Mr. Vandygriff was born June 2, 1938 in Slaughters, KY, to the late Fletcher Vandygriff and Hazel Oakley Vandygriff. He worked for Texas Gas and was a member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church in Hanson. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah Prow Vandygriff; one daughter, Lisa (Wayne) Phillips of Slaughters; one son, Rodney (Donna) Vandygriff of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Jordan, Levi, and Grace Vandygriff and Brandon and Brooke Phillips. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Barnett Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Ladd and Bro. Harry Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday until the service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jordan Vandygriff, Levi Vandygriff, Brandon Phillips, Lisa Phillips, Wayne Phillips and Rodney Vandygriff. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grace Vandygriff, Brooke Phillips and Donna Vandygriff Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Rural United Methodist Church in Hanson or West Lawn Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
