Dortha Lou Crook Obituary (1935 - 2019)

Dortha Lou 'Dot' Crook, 83 of Madisonville, KY passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 17, 1935 in Madisonville to the late Thomas Jefferson Jones and Cora Elizabeth Forbes Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Chester Crook; one son, Wade Crook; three sisters; and three brothers. She worked as a seamstress at Enro Shirt Company and was a member of Suthards Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and U.K. basketball and playing cards. She loved Sunday dinners and sitting on the front porch. She also loved her dog, Snickers. She is survived by three daughters, Robin (Bruce) Knight of Henderson, KY, Charlotte (Tom) Furgerson of Madisonville and Scarlett (Jimmy) Tapp of Henderson; four sons, Tommy (Erline) Densmore of Charleston, KY, David (Shelia) Densmore of Dawson Springs, KY, Craig (Dottie) Crook of Suthards, and Rafe (Cindy) Crook of Suthards; two sisters, Brenda (Ellis) Johnson of St. Charles, KY and Joann Storms of St. Charles; three brothers, Harold (Sue) Jones of Madisonville, Donnie Jones of Illinois, and Jimmy (Judy) Jones of Temple, TX; sixteen grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. George Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in New Suthard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Densmore, Dustin McGill, Brandon Crook, Bryan Crook, Nick Cannon, and Zachary Crook.
