Elmer Johnson Obituary (1938 - 2007)

Mr. Elmer Johnson, 69, of Orange City, FL and formerly of Madisonville, KY, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. \ Born September 10, 1938 in Hopkins Co., KY. He was the son of the late John Adam Red Johnson. \ Mr. Johnson was a self employed electrician and a member of Christian Assembly. \ He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Johnson of Orange City; two daughters, Pamela Kay LaMond of Madisonville and Cheryl Lynette Altman of Brandon, FL; one son, Chris Johnson of Madisonville;his mother, Gracie Wells Johnson of Madisonville; two sisters, Sue Thomas of Madisonville and Sandi Sansbury of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Owen Reed Johnson of Gatlinburg, TN, Gene Johnson of Madisonville and Jimmy Johnson of Deltona, FL; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev.Roy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Grapevine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon LaMond, Blake Cannon, Shawn Cannon, Travis Cannon, Jason Meredith, Bobby Johnson, Mike Thomas and Jeremy Johnson. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until the services. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
