Forrest Buddy\" Puryear Obituary (1937 - 2014)

\ Forrest 'Buddy' Puryear, 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville. \ \ He was born September 22, 1937 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Samuel F. Puryear and Georgia L. Puryear Peyton. \ \ Buddy retired from the coal mines after 27 years and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, UMWA District 23, and a U.K. fan. He loves his cats. He was the family fix-it man. He will be dearly missed by children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom he loved and devoted most of his time to. \ \ He is survived by his wife of 57 years. Anna McKnight Puryear; three daughters, Patty (Cliff) Wilson of Manitou, KY; Donna Lambdin of Madisonville; and Lynn (Tim) Berry of Madisonville; one son, Phillip (Carole) Puryear of Hanson, KY; two sisters, Wanda (Joe) Lander of Madisonville and Janice (Bill) Cardwell of Anton, KY; one brother, Darriel (Dorothy) Puryear of Madisonville; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. \ \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Barnett-Strother with Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Madisonville. \ \ Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. \ \ Memorial donation may be made to the Olive Branch Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
