Glema M. Mahr Obituary (1917 - 2009)

Mrs. Glema M. Mahr, 92, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 11:30 P.M., Monday, November 2, 2009 at her residence. \ She was born January 13, 1917 in Seward, NE to the late George Miers and Pearl Smith Miers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Merle M. Mahr on December 22, 1991. \ Glemas legacy and passion for fine arts will forever be remembered. She was a strong, generous woman who will be missed by the many lives she touched. Serving the Red Cross, local Chamber, the YMCA, public library and her passion, the arts center that bears her name. She represented a true volunteer. \ She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins but her friends were her family. \ A celebration of her life will be held at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 13, 2009. \ Glema requests no floral tributes. In her honor, Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts.
