Glendon McGee Martin Obituary (1938 - 2005)

Mr. Glendon McGee Martin, 67, of Marion, Illinois and formerly of Hopkins Co., KY, died at 12:23 P.M. Thursday, September 15, 2005, at South East Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. \ Born August 28, 1938 in Rabbit Ridge, KY he was the son of the late Talbern Emmon Martin and Ova Lee Maddox Martin. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. \ He was a coal miner for Amax Coal CO. and the U.M.W.A. He was a member of the Beulah, KY Masonic Lodge #609 F&AM and the Lake of Egypt Country Club in Marion, IL. He was also a US Army veteran. \ He is survived by his wife, Linda Cook Martin of Marion; one daughter, Christie Bingham of Paris, KY; three sons, Gregg Martin of Dallas, GA, Michael G. Martin of Dawson Springs, KY and Talburn J. Martin of Marion, IL; three sisters, Modell Barton of Madisonville, KY, Magalene Clayton of Mishawaka, IN and Joyce Wilson of Madisonville; two brothers, Raymond Martin of Rabbit Ridge and Emmon Ray Martin of Osceola, IN; and ten grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday and on Sunday after 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. \
