Grover C. Jones Sr. Obituary (1939 - 2004)

Mr. Grover C. Jones, 65, of Madisonville, KY, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 5:55 A.M., at his home. \ Born October 4, 1939, in Madisonville, he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Jones and Cora Elizabeth Forbes Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hendricks and a brother, Robert Jones. \ He was a retired from Island Creek Coal Co., and was a member of Lafayette Baptist Church near Dawson Springs, KY. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #6. \ He is survived by his wife, Judy Jones of Dawson Springs, KY; one daughter, Chrystal D. Jones Royal of Madisonville; one son, Grover C. Jones Jr. of Columbus, Miss.; five sisters, Lois Brown of Madisonville, Addie Arnett of Ilsley, KY, Dortha Crook of Suthards, KY, Brenda Johnson of St. Charles, KY, and Joann Storms of Madisonville; four brothers, Thomas Jefferson Jones of Central City, KY, Harold Jones of Madisonville, Donald Jones of Philo, IL, and James Jones of Temple, TX; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be Friday, October 8, 2004, at 2:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. George Brooks officiating. Burial will be at a later date. \ Visitation will be Friday, October 8, 2004, from 10:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. \ \
