Hazel M. Roberts Obituary (1924 - 2010)

Mrs. Hazel M. Roberts, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 5:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at NHC HealthCare of Madisonville. \ She was born November 17, 1924 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Aubrey Benjamin and Ressie Florida Merrell. She was preceded in death by her husband Marlin Roberts, two sisters and two brothers. \ Mrs. Roberts was a member of Christian Assembly where she was very active in the food ministry, she was also a member of the AARP and enjoyed going to the senior citizens center. \ She is survived by one daughter, Eugenia (Danny) Wade of Angier, NC; one son Kenny (Joyce) Roberts of Madisonville; one sister Martha Nichols of Madisonville; one brother Raymond Merrell of Evansville, IN; six grandchildren, Teresa (Jeff) Skaggs of Madisonville, Karen (Ben) Holloway of Madisonville, Cindy (Don) Lomache of Madisonville, Sheila (Dean) Sheets of Madisonville, Brian Wade of Fuguay, NC, Kimberly (Mike) Reid of Austin, TX; fifteen great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and caregiver, Melissa Caraway. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Ellis and Rev. Glen Hobgood officiating. Burial will follow in Browder Church Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and at 11:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Justin Gamblin, Jared Gamblin, Barret Holloway, Quentin Lomache, Brian Wade and Don Lomache. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
