Hazel Strother Burton Obituary (1919 - 2005)

Mr. Strother Burton, 85, of Madisonville, KY died at 12:40 A.M. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home. \ Born December 25, 1919 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Burton and Virlie Timmons Gibson Burton. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. \ He was a salesman for Madisonville Tire and Recapping for thirty-six years. and a member of the Madisonville First General Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran having served in WW II. \ He is survived by two sons, Rusty Burton of Madisonville and Wayne Burton of Dixon, KY; one sister, JoNell Sullivan of Evansville, IN ; one brother, James Oakley of Nebo; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step grandchild. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Rick E. Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakley Home Cemetery in Manitou, KY. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home. \ \
