Ivy Blanche Belt Obituary (1935 - 2014)

\ Ivy Blanche Belt, 78, of Nebo, KY passed away at 2:45 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at her home. \ \ She was born October 5, 1935 in Caldwell Co., KY to the late William Thomas Young and Annie May Burchett Young. She was also preceded in death by one brother, one sister and two grandchildren. \ \ Mrs. Belt was a Christian and a member of Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former nurse's aide at Hopkins Co. Hospital, Senior Citizens Nursing Home and NHC Healthcare. She drove a school bus in the 1970's. She loved to sew, crochet, cook, garden and loved spending time with her loved ones. \ \ She is survived by her husband W.G. Belt of Nebo; one daughter, Mary Ann Townsend of Madisonville; two sons, Larry (Angie) Townsend of Dixon, KY and Bobby (Lisa) Townsend of Eldorado, IL; one sister, Connie Sue Harvey of Louisville, KY; one brother, Richard Young of Madisonville; seven grandchildren and five great grandchild. \ \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 11, 2014 with Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Billy Neal Parish, Johnny Morgan, Steve Blanchard, Mark Dickerson and Jimmy Holeman and Dwight Holeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Russ and Alvin Russ. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Health Hospice or the Door of Hope. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. \ \
