Jackie H. Cottrell Obituary (1946 - 2023)

Jackie H. Cottrell, 77, of Madisonville, KY passed away Tuesday December 5, 2023 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on September 21, 2023. He was born September 12, 1946 in Riverside, KY to the late John William Cottrell and Cynthia Nevelene Parker Cottrell. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Jean Carr and Evelyn Christine Thomas; three half-sisters, Peggy Bodine, Freda Perry, and Mabel Thomas; and one half-brother, John Cottrell. Jackie worked for The City of Madisonville for over 33 years as a Waste Water Treatment plant operator. He enjoyed spending time on his HAM Radio. He was an amazing father and grandfather. He loved his dogs, and he also enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Lee Carroll Cottrell; two daughters, Christal Lynn Cotton and Tabitha Lynn Cottrell, both of Madisonville; two sons, Jackson William Cottrell and Joseph Wayne Cottrell, both of Madisonville; one sister, Jane Seiber of Madisonville; one brother, Donald Michael Cottrell of Hanson, KY; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Whitmer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday December 11, 20223 and after 12:00 PM until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joseph Cottrell, Billy Carr, Mark Carr, Jacob Seiber, Justin Conrad, Blakely Baucum, Jerry Law, and Tim "Paco" Pierson.
