James \Peaches\"" Cleath Harris Obituary (1924 - 2012)

\ James Cleath Peaches Harris Sr., 87 years young, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Regional Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1924 in Island, KY to the late Romney Watson and Addie Dunlap Harris. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Marie Witherspoon Harris; six brothers, Bill Harris, Roy Harris, Oscar Lee Harris, Paul Harris, Shirley Ed Harris, and Gene Harris; one sister, Lucile Harris-Walls; and one great-grandchild, Brady Joe Ferrantino. \ \ Mr. Harris was an Army WWII Veteran with Bronze Star. He was a member of Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church Madisonville, and was a retired butcher. \ \ He is survived by his wife, Odell S. Crockett-Harris of Madisonville; two daughters, Brenda Gail Oglesby of Madisonville and Rhonda Faye Workman, of Oregon; one son, James Jimmy Harris of CA; one brother, Richard Earl Harris; five grandchildren, James Jamie Ferrantino, Shannon Marie Wright, Chad Preston Oglesby, Michael Hudson, and Matthew Hudson; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Hudson, Dakota Cody Ferrantino, Kristopher Hudson, Brandon Nicholas Ferrantino, Garrett David Wright, Wyatt Hudson, Emily Elizabeth Wright, Shane Michael Ferrantino and Faith Hudson. \ \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 13, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, KY. Military honors will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. \ \ Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday and after 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Paul Oglesby, Jamie Ferrantino, Chad Oglesby, Cody Ferrantino, Brandon Ferrantino, and Shane Ferrantino. \ \
