Jerrold James Obituary (1946 - 2014)

\ Jerrold James, 68, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his residence in Madisonville. \ \ He was born February 14, 1946 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Henry Leon James and Evelyn Spence James. \ \ Mr. James worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Hopkins County Road Department for over 20 years. He was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church. He loved to ride motorcycles, go fishing, and was a member of the Dixie Flyers Club. \ \ He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cathey James of Madisonville; one step-daughter, Jennifer (J.C.) Britt of Ledbetter, KY; two sons, Jeffrey (Jayne) James of Springfield, VA and Max James of Madisonville; one step-ston, Robert Mayhugh of Paducah, KY; and six grandchildren, Megan James, Briar Moffitt, Bailey Mayhugh, Carlee Mayhugh, Stevie Mayhugh, and Eden Britt. \ \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Mr. Rob Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. \ \ Memorial donations may be made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation at http://www.specialops.org Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
