Jewell Wilmer Ashby Obituary (1919 - 2014)

\ \ \ Jewell W. Ashby, 95, of Madisonville, KY passed away, September 3, 2014 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. \ \ He was born June 26, 1919 to the late Herman and Pearl Ashby. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Pansy Bangert of Evansville, IN, Ruth Payne of Evansville, and Chelsey Kellams of Evansville, and one brother, McCarly Ashby of Madisonville. \ \ Mr. Ashby was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle and crops. \ \ He is survived by his sister, Wanda Henry of Exello, MO; two nephews, Brian and Greg Henry; and several nieces and nephews. \ \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lutz officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY. \ \ Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Lane Dickerson, Chris Dickerson, Mickey Howard, Chad Howard, Johnny Nance and Anthony Flores. \ \
