Liggett N. Hollis Obituary (1923 - 2007)

Mr. Liggett N. Hollis, 83, of Madisonville, KY, died at 5:55 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at his home. \ Born March 14, 1923 in Hopkins County, KY. He was the son of Essel Newton Hollis and Birdie Harmon Hollis. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Paul Hollis, one sister, Sarah Beth Tomes and one brother, Maurice Hollis. \ Mr. Hollis was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Liggetts Wheel Alignment and was a WW II Marine Corp Veteran. \ Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Naomi Hampton Hollis; two sons, David Hollis of Greenville and Ronnie Hollis of Madisonville; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday. \ Military graveside rite will be conducted by American Legion Post # 6, VFW Post # 5480 and American Legion Post # 2. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to Grapevine Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
