Luther Lovein Grant Obituary (1923 - 2009)

Mr. Luther Lovein Grant, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 2:00 A.M., Friday, April 3, 2009 at his residence. \ He was born November 3, 1923 in Christian County, KY to the late Luther Ellis Grant and Ella Edna Jenkins Grant. \ Mr. Grant retired after 30 years of service from the United States Navy where he was a Boatsman Mate First Class and a Deep Sea Diver. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #5480 of Madisonville and a Kentucky Colonel. \ He is survived by one daughter, Charisse Ann Grant Carter of Bluffton, SC; one son, Lucien Luther Spud Grant of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one brother, Clyde Grant of Madisonville; two sisters, Laura Johnston of Earlington, KY and Edna Jones of Glasgow, KY and two grandchildren. \ Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. \ Memorial Contributions may take the form of donation to the VFW Post #5480, 201 McLeod Lane, Madisonville, KY 42431. \
