Marietta Beeny Bassett Obituary (1924 - 2008)

Mrs. Marietta Beeny Bassett, 84, of Madisonville, KY, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 6:54 P.M. at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born January 9, 1924 in Hopkins County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Ellis Beeny and Camie Clayton Beeny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Bassett on July 8, 2003; one sister, Ann Beeny Brown and one brother, Harvey Beeny. \ She was a homemaker and a member of the Park Ave Baptist Church. \ She is survived by one daughter; Beverly Bassett of Madisonville; one son, Michael E. Bassett of Madisonville; one brother, J.D. Beeny of Madisonville; two grandsons and one great grandson \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday; January 19, 2008 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Lon Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Grapevine Cemetery. \ Friends may call from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Park Ave. Baptist Church. \
