Martha J. Prince Obituary (1922 - 2008)

Martha Jane Prince passed from this life to the next, while sleeping peacefully in her home in St Joseph, Illinois on Sunday, January 6th 2008. \ She was born on Aug. 29, 1922 in Mortons Gap, KY to Hallie and Virgil Witherspoon , She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Wayne Prince who died Dec. 26, 1993 and Randy Dale Prince , infant; one sister and two brothers; Hazel Marie (Witherspoon) Harris, Ray Johnson Witherspoon, Billy Gene Witherspoon. Martha was married to Robert Enoch Prince in 1939 \ She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Rita Prince of Herrin ,IL . and Terry and Hiedi Prince of St. Joseph , IL; sister Bonnie Prow of Rabbit Ridge, KY, and one brother, Robert Witherspoon of Herrin, IL. \ She had 3 grandchildren from Terry; Randy Prince, Reina Chacon, and Miguel Chacon of St.Joseph, IL and 2 grandchildren from Ronald; Roxanna Parker of Marion,IL, and Chester Helderman of Troy,IL. She had one great grandson from Ronald, Gregory Parker of Marion,IL. \ Martha worked at Olins, Smollers, and Norge;all in Herrin ,IL. She retired from Norge in 1988. \ Martha had many friends in Kentucky, Marion, Herrin and St. Joseph,IL. They would all say she was known for her wit and bubbly personality. \ Martha adored and lived her whole life for her boys. She will be greatly missed by them and all of her family. \ Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10th 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 2:00 P.M. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2007 with Rev. Hughlan Richey officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap Ky. \
