Morton C. Whitmer Obituary (1916 - 2005)

Mr. Morton C. Whitmer, 88, of Madisonville, KY, died Monday, January 10, 2005, at 5:20 A.M., at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born February 5, 1916, in Muhlenberg County, KY, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Whitmer and Abbie Kittinger Whitmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; a grandson, Brian Whitmer, and by two brothers and one sister. \ Mr. Whitmer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cleota Mae Stanley Whitmer of Madisonville; one son, Morton E. Gene Whitmer of Madisonville; two sisters, Alma Poss of Central City, KY, and Irene Scullion of Ohio; three half brothers; one half sister; one granddaughter, Cindy Barnhill; and three great grandchildren, Amanda Fowler, Audrey Fowler, and Eli Barnhill. \ Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at 11:00 A.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Briar Creek Cemetery. \ Visitation will be Tuesday, January 11, 2005, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Wednesday at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. \ Pallbearers will be Jimmy Phillips, Don Jones, Wayne Barnhill, Harold Fowler, and Jeff Rideout. \ Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Richland Fire Department, C/O Patty Summers, 65 Richland-Manitou Road, Madisonville, KY 42431. \ \
