Nancy Ann Howard Volkaert Obituary (1946 - 2008)

Mrs. Nancy Ann Howard Volkaert, 61, of Madisonville, KY and formerly of Nashville, TN, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 12:39 A.M. at her residence. \ Born August 15, 1946 in Daviess County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Howard and Agnes Penrod Howard. \ She attended Hanson United Methodist Church. She retired from South Central Bell and was a graduate of Madisonville High School. She was a member of Hanson Quilting Club and Telephone Pioneers. She had worked at J. C. Penneys in Nashville. \ Mrs. Volkaert is survived by a son, Brian Wesley Patterson of Hesperia, CA; a step-daughter, Bridget Cline of Madisonville; a brother, Eugene Howard II of Philpot, KY; a caregiver, Marilyn Hulsey of Madisonville; one niece and one nephew. \ Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Milby officiating. Burial will follow in Island Cemetery in Island, KY. \ Pallbearers will be Harold Atwell, Johnny Miller, James Hulsey, Chad Greenlee, Ron Cline and Michael Plemmons. \ Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
