Naomi Carter Obituary (1924 - 2008)

Mrs. Naomi Carter, 84 of Manitou, KY passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at her residence. \ She was born May 21, 1924, in Kentucky to the late John and Rosie Lantrip. She was also preceded in death by her son Dickie Carter, grandson Jackie Ray Carter, a son-in-law Larry Jenkins, two sisters, and four brothers. \ Mrs. Carter was a secretary for Carter Plumbing where she retired in 1983. \ She is survived by her husband of 67 years; W.L. Carter of Manitou; one daughter, Sheila Jenkins of Manitou; one son, Gary (Barbara) Carter, a daughter-in-law; Becky Carter of Madisonville; one brother, Billy Lantrip of Manitou; six grandsons; one granddaughter; three great grandsons; three great granddaughters; and one great great grandson. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Concord General Baptist Church Cemetery in Manitou, KY. \ Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from Noon until the service time at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will Craig Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, Colby Carter, Willy Carter, Curtis Carter, and Tommy Carter. \
