Nell Tyson Lee Obituary (1924 - 2015)

\ Nell Tyson Lee passed away on Easter morning, Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Greenville, KY. \ \ She was born February 17, 1924 in Mortons Gap, KY to Raymond and Ola Elizabeth Tyson. \ \ She graduated from Mortons Gap High School and Bryant Stratton Business College in Louisville, KY. She was an office manager for Sunbeam Electric in Evansville, IN, for the Hopkins County Triple-A office, and for Hopkins County Farm Bureau. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville where she sang in the church choir for over 50 years and was a member of the Martha Sunday School Class, the Young at Heart Club and the Deborah Mission Study Group. She was a charter member of the Women's Club of Madisonville and was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. She was the first President of the Pride Avenue Elementary School PTA, President of the Seminary Junior High School PTA, and was elected to Life Membership in PTA. \ \ In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Delora Ruth Tyson and Ruby Gordon Crombie, by her brother, Realus Tyson, and by her husband, Richard B. Lee, Sr. \ \ She is survived by her children, Karen (John) Browning and Dr. Rick (Susanna) Lee; grandchildren, Dr. Carey (Dr. Jim) Dodds, Nathan (Blair) Lee, Jennie (Dr. Michael) Knight, Dr. Whitney Browning and Hays (Jessica) Browning; and by great grandchildren, Drew, Jack, and Sam Dodds; Lillie, Ella, and Aidan Knight; Palmer and Tucker Lee; and Brady and Bailey Ann Browning. \ \ Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville with Pastor Daniel Selman officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. \ \ Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Wednesday. \ \ Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Dodds, Dr. Michael Knight, Nathan Lee, Hays Browning, Dr. Whitney Browning, Dr. Carey Dodds and Jennie Knight and the Martha Sunday School Class will serve as the Honorary Pallbearers. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, the Mahr Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.
