Norma Spence Siria Obituary (1917 - 2007)

Mrs. Norma Spence Siria, 89, of Madisonville, KY, died Sunday, January 7, 2007, at 5:00 A.M., at her residence. \ Born April 3, 1917, in Henderson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Norman L. Spence and Augusta Deusner Spence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruby Hester Siria on March 1, 1974; a sister, Evelyn James in 1994 and a twin brother that died at birth. \ Mrs. Siria was a retired bookkeeper for Southern States and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Madisonville, where she was active in the Presbyterian womens groups and was a church Elder. She was a former volunteer at the Regional Medical Center and Mahr Cancer Center. She had been active in Extension Homemakers. \ She is survived by one son, Bruce Spence Siria of Frankfort, KY; a step-daughter, Jo Siria White of Hendersonville, NC; a nephew, Jerry James of Madisonville; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lon Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from 1:00 P.M. until the service time on Thursday at the church. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
