Norvel Ray Nevitt Obituary (1930 - 2005)

Mr. Norvel Ray Nevitt, 75, of Madisonville, KY, died at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2005, at NHC Health Care in Dickson, TN. \ Born October 28, 1930 in Madisonville, KY to the late Jasper Lee and Helen Williams Nevitt. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Helen Gardner. \ Mr. Nevitt was a steel worker for US Steel. He was a member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church. He also loved to play music with country bands at churches and the Senior Citizens Center. He loved his children, grandchildren and people in general. \ Mr. Nevitt is survived by five daughters, Ellen Nevitt of Lake Station, IN, Shirley Penska of Starke, FL, Barbara Hollister of Hobart, IN, Nancy Croley of Ashland City, TN and Debra Schumacher of Portage, IN; one son, Michael Nevitt of Keystone Heights, Fl; one sister, Peggy Hall of Ocala, FL; one brother, Leroy Nevitt of Madisonville; 19 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; his first wife, Peggy Henley and second wife, Judy Nevitt; two stepsons, Jack Clayton and Robert Clayton, both of Aurora, IL. \ Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until the service time at the funeral home. \ Memorial donations may be made to Providence Rural United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
