Paul \Big Daddy\"" Rideout Obituary (1922 - 2009)

r. Paul Big Daddy Rideout Jr., 86, of Nortonville, Kentucky passed away at 3:29 P.M., Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ He was born August 10, 1922 in Providence, KY to the late Paul Rideout Sr. and Cavy Agnes Brantley Rideout. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ginny Piccola; a son, Michael Stephen Rideout; great granddaughter, Kendra Rideout; brother, Fred Rideout; sister, Anna Sue Crusoe and his stepmother, Irene Rideout. \ Mr. Rideout was a World War II veteran. He served with the United States Marine Corps and fought on Gaudal Canal. He worked almost 40 years with the L & N CSX Railroad. He started the South Hopkins Fire Department and was Chairman of the Board for 25 years. He was a member of Nortonville Baptist Church. \ He is survived by four sons, Dwight (Marsha) Rideout of Henderson, Paul (Sandy) Rideout of Madisonville, Darwin (Cyndy) Rideout of Nortonville and Jeff Rideout of Nebo; two daughters, Janice Keen of Henderson and Nancy (Ronnie) Faulk of Nortonville with whom he lived; one brother, David (Sharon) Rideout of Morganfield; one sister, Patsy (Johnny) Ashby of Nortonville; ten grandchildren, Steve and Darla Keen, Dwight and Jennifer Rideout, Chris and Kevin Rideout, Ryan and Ginny Long, Krista Rideout and Megan Rideout; five great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Vaught, Bro. Troy Doster and Bro. Bobby Reno officiating. Burial will follow Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton, KY. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral Home. \ Pallbearers will be member of the South Hopkins Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. \ Memorial donations may be made to the South Hopkins Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
