Philip \Phil\"" Slygh Obituary (1932 - 2011)

Philip Phil L. Slygh, 78, of Henderson, KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ He was born August 3, 1932 in Columbus, OH to the late Frances Leroy and Christine Common Slygh. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Rosemary McDonald. \ Mr. Slygh was a member of First Church of God in Madisonville. \ He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Liz Slygh of Henderson; three daughters, Deborah (Ron) Payton of Kissimmee, FL, Barbara (Danny) Johnson of Baltimore, OH and Sherry Slygh of Morrison, CO; three sons, Robert (Kim) Gibson of St. Petersburg, FL, Michael (Laura) Slygh of Hingham, MA and Mark (Debbie) Slygh of Bartelso, IL; two sisters, Audrey Justice of Texas and Helen Clevenger of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., on Friday and 1:00 P.M., until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the First Church of God, 617 South Kentucky Avenue, Madisonville, KY 42431. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
