Phyllis Laffoon Knight Obituary (1931 - 2009)

Mrs. Phyllis Laffoon Knight, 78, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 8:15 A.M., Sunday, April 5, 2009 at her residence. \ She was born February 1, 1931 in Madisonville to the late Archie Marlin Laffoon and Veda Prow Laffoon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Knight, Sr. in 1976 and two sisters, Helen Simms and Margaret Wyatt. \ Mrs. Knight was a medical secretary at Regional Medical Center for 27 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. \ She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jeff) Chandler of Newburgh, IN and Marilyn (John Hyatt) Knight of Houston, TX; one son, James E. Knight, Jr. of Madisonville; one sister, Julia Hogan of Madisonville and two grandchildren, Sarah (Bart) Burke of Evansville, IN; and Allison Chandler of Solomans, MD. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 and Noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. \ Memorial Contributions may take the form of donation to the American Heart Association and First Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
