Rella Gibbs Jenkins Obituary (1917 - 2004)

Mrs. Rella Gibbs Jenkins, 86, of Madisonville, KY, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 7:05 A.M., at Versnick Health Care in Madisonville. \ Born June 23, 1917, in Calloway County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Gibbs and Jersye Lillian Roark Gibbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil N. Gibbs, and an infant brother. \ Mrs. Jenkins was a Murray/Training School High School graduate and she received her Masters Degree from Murray State University. She was a retired school teacher and guidance counselor with the Hopkins County School System, and was a financial aid officer for the Madisonville Community College. She was a member of the Madisonville Baptist Church. \ She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles W. Jenkins of Madisonville; a daughter, Pamela Janine Moore, and her husband, Wesley Kim Moore of Madisonville; a son, Charles Warren Jenkins II, and his wife, Pamela Ruff Jenkins of Madisonville; and two granddaughters, Shalyn Ariana Jenkins and Kadra Alexis Jenkins. \ Funeral services will be graveside at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Monday, January 12, 2004, at 2:00 P.M., with Bro. Kirk Dice officiating. \ There will be no visitation. Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. \ Pallbearers will be Bruce Hall, John Pate, Paul Bruce, George Mitchell, Glenn Pendley and Steve Thomas. \
