Roy \Red\"" Harris Obituary (1918 - 2009)

Mr. Roy W. Red Harris, 91, of Madisonville, Kentucky passed away at 6:10 P.M., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Hillside Villa in Madisonville. \ He was born April 30, 1918 in Eastern Kentucky to the late Romny Watson Harris and Abbie Dunlap Harris. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Maureen Bullock Harris; one son, Ricky Watson Harris; one grandson, Ricky Hunt; one sister, Lucille Walls; five brothers, William, Paul, Shirley, Edward, Gene and Oscar Harris. \ Mr. Harris was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA and Grapevine Baptist Church. \ He is survived by one daughter, Paula Dianne Hunt of Madisonville; two brothers, James Peaches Harris of Madisonville and Richard Earl Harris of Glen Rock, PA; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Owensboro. \ Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the funeral home. \
