S. M. \Cowboy\"" Stewart Obituary (1928 - 2004)

Mr. S. M. Cowboy Stewart, 76, of Madisonville, KY, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at 8:00 P.M., at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born April 7, 1928, in Greenville, KY, he was the son of the late George W. Stewart and Eliza Jane Tyson Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. \ Mr. Stewart retired from Peabody Coal Company Vogue Mines after 42 years and was a member and deacon of Pleasantview Baptist Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #143, 32nd Scottish Rite, Shriners, and York Rite. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a US Navy veteran. \ He is survived by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Dorothy Stewart of Madisonville; one daughter, Sandra Kipling of Madisonville; one son, Charles Stewart of Nebo, KY; one brother, Eugene Stewart of Evansville, IN; two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. \ Funeral services will be Thursday, December 2, 2004, at 1:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. James Burden and Bro. Brody Ambrose officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. \ Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2004, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with Masonic services at 6:30 P.M. Visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the service at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. \ Pallbearers will be Ray Michaels, Malcolm Franklin, Charlie Lester, Jack McCormick, Bob Wilson, and Harold Johnson. \
