Shelby Jean Tapp Daniel Obituary (1937 - 2020)

Shelby Jean Tapp Daniel, 83 of Smyrna, TN formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Smyrna. She was born February 26, 1937 in Madisonville to the late Robert Tapp and Ethel Nichols Tapp. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Tapp and one son, Doug M. Daniel. Shelby was an administrative assistant, retired after 30 years. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by one son, Pastor Davis (Donna Jo) Daniel of Murfreesboro, TN; one daughter-in-law, Karen Daniel of Evansville, IN; one brother, William C. Tapp of Madisonville; six grandchildren, James C. DeGlopper, IV., of Gallatin, TN, Jennifer L. Hickey of Hendersonville, TN, John David Daniel of St. Petersburg, FL, Amanda L. Fountain of Fayetteville, NC, Jarod Daniel of Evansville, and Jordan Daniel of Chicago, IL; and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Davis Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
