Shera Ann Cates Obituary (1956 - 2014)

\ Shera Ann Cates, 57, of Morton's Gap, KY, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at her residence. \ \ She was born August 13, 1956 in Madisonville to the late Thomas Lee Dame and Anna Lee Gunn Dame. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas 'Buddy' Dame and Charles Lee Dame. \ \ Mrs. Cates was a retired purchasing clerk for Royal Brass and Hose. \ \ She is survived by her husband Mike Cates of Morton's Gap; six sons; Steven Paul Brown of Madisonville; Matthew Brown of Morton's Gap, Chris Cates of Dawson Springs, Jason Brown of Morton's Gap; Brandon Cates of Nortonville, KY, and Nick Cates of Madisonville; one sister; Martha Dame of Madisonville; three brothers, Larry Dame of White Plains, KY; Glen Dame of Hanson, KY, and John Dame of Chapmanville, WV; and six grandchildren. \ \ Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dustin Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. \ \
