Vergia Louise Lutz Obituary (1917 - 2016)

Vergia Louise Lutz, 98, of Manitou, KY passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. Mrs. Lutz was born December 19, 1917 in Manitou., KY to the late Lonnie Owen and Flora Burton Owen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, A.W. Lutz. Upon her death, she was the oldest living member of Concord General Baptist Church at age 98, where she was a member for 78 years, an honor she shared with her mother who died at age 91 being a member for 75 years. They were both baptized by Rev. Oscar Duncan when they became members of Concord. She is survived by four sons, Carroll Lutz, Marshall Lutz, Glenn (Pam) Lutz, and Ernie Lutz; three daughters, Randa (Charles) Hoffman, Joan (Kenny) Howard, and Delane (Aud) Bugg; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Lutz, Kris Eagle, Melissa Vincent, Kathy Glennon, Marsha Padbergh, Misty Black, Mandy Ralston, Kenneth Howard, Jr., Michael Howard, Steven McKnight, Andrew Christian, and Megan Christian; 12 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou with Rev. Eddie Fleming and Rev. Charles Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. to service time Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be Jeff Lutz, Kenneth Howard, Jr., Michael Howard, Andrew Christian, Eric Eagle and Jordan Lutz. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven McKnight, Tyler Cartwright, Kyle Glennon, and Cory Vincent. Memorial contributions can be made to Concord General Baptist Cemetery Fund .
