Virgil K Vaughn Jr. Obituary (1935 - 2006)

Mr. Virgil K. Vaughn Jr., 70, of Madisonville, KY died at 8:25 P.M. Monday, June 19, 2006 at his home. \ Born October 3, 1935 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Virgil Keen Vaughn Sr. and Mamie Vandiver Vaughn. \ He retired after 38 years as a union miner with Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of the Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou, KY. \ He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Henrietta Campbell Vaughn of Madisonville; one daughter, Linda Vaughn-Brown of Clay, KY; two sons, Jerry Vaughn of Louisville and Joey Vaughn of Orofino, ID; two sisters, Jo Nell Mitchell and Jane Vaughn, both of Madisonville; one brother Lonnie Vaughn of Dawson Springs, KY; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Concord General Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and on Thursday after 1:00 P.M. at the church. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Concord General Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
