Wesley Jr. Padgett Obituary (1944 - 2010)

Wesley Padgett, Jr., 66, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 6:06 A.M., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ He was born August 1, 1944, in Linton, IN to the late Wesley S. and Dorothy Wright Padgett. \ Mr. Padgett was a member of the First Church of God in Madisonville and Owensboro. He worked for Zeigler #9 Coal Mine, served as a Security Guard at GE & York and retired from custodial staff at Grapevine Baptist Church. He was a faithful husband and father, he served God and loved being around his family. \ He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deloris Dee Ratzlaff Padgett of Madisonville; one daughter, Ruthann Padgett of Hanson; one son, Rusty (Sherri) Padgett of Madisonville; two sisters, Elaine Baggett of Linden, NC and Brenda (Tom) Gibson of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, Darrell (Greta) Padgett of Madisonville and three grandchildren, Melanie (Seth) Tapp, Braydon Padgett and Mikaila Padgett all of Madisonville. \ Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Judson Sealey, Rev Jeff Berry and Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday and after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Charles Starr, Jim Hendrix, Bruce Spencer, Sam Riley, Dave Wilson, and Wayne Risinger. \ Memorial contributions may be made to Child of Promise in Anderson, IN or Common Garments in Nebo, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
