Willa Dean Carlton Obituary (1929 - 2011)

Mrs. Willa Dean Carlton 81, of Earlington, KY passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ She was born November 9, 1929 in Earlington to the late Robert Lodell Choate and Jessie Brooks Choate. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Charles Duck Carlton on August 16, 2002 and by her step-father James W. Ashby. \ Mrs. Carlton was member of the First Baptist Church in Earlington where she also retired as church secretary in 1992 after over 40 years of service. She graduated Valedictorian from Earlington High School in 1948 \ She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Lynn Foreman and her husband John of Earlington, one son, Rob Carlton and his wife Jan, of Owensboro, granddaughter Heather Leigh Tapp, and her husband Ray, and great-granddaughter Abigail Rae Tapp all of Hanson. Also surviving are special caregivers, Charlotte Boyd, Lori Boyd, and Zachary Boyd. \ Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Finley and Bro. David Simpson officiating with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. \ Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, June 26 and after 9:00 A.M. Monday June 27 at the funeral home. \ Family requests expressions of sympathy go to American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research or American Diabetes Association. \ Pallbearers: Alan Beeny, Jaye Troop, Greg Carlton, Maurie Bedwell, Zachary Boyd, and Paul Carlton. \
