William E. \Bill\"" Arnold Obituary (1925 - 2006)

Mr. William E. Bill Arnold, 80, of Madisonville, KY died at 10:15 P.M. Monday, April 17, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness. \ Born November 17, 1925 in Madisonville, KY he was the son of the late James Lawson Arnold. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, James Ernest Jim Arnold on June 24, 2003 and one sister Betty Roberts Martin. \ He was a manager and salesman for Central Mine Supply and a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a WW II Army veteran, having served in the Signal Corp in Europe. He was a 50 year member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge # 143 F&AM. He was a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #5480 and a member the American Legion Post #6. He was a life member of the Hopkins County Historical Society and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. \ He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lanna Niswonger Arnold of Madisonville; his 97 year old mother, Eldee Wilkey Arnold of Madisonville; two sons, Bob Arnold of Bowling Green and Steve Arnold of Louisville; three grandchildren, Tara Arnold Griffith and her husband, Jeff of Bowling Green, KY, Kelli Arnold of Georgetown, KY, AFC Curtis Arnold of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK; one great-granddaughter, Kylee Arnold of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister-in-law, Jean Fowler Prow of Madisonville; two nieces, Terri Messenger of Driftwood, TX and Gayla Darling of Spring, TX and one nephew, David Roberts of Hendersonville, TN; \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
