William Rodney Underwood Sr. Obituary (1945 - 2015)

\ William Rodney Underwood, Sr., 69, of Madisonville, KY passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at his residence. \ \ He was born on May 14, 1945 in Hopkins County, KY to the late William Roscoe Underwood and Thelma Heady Underwood. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Sara Underwood. \ \ Mr. Underwood worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the NRA. \ \ He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Faye Kittinger Underwood; two sons, William Rodney (Marilyn) Underwood Jr., and Norman Eric Underwood of Madisonville; three sisters, Carolyn (Vern) Halloway of Wyoming, Shirley Jane (Bobby) Watson of White Plains, KY, and Ruby Burbage of Pennsylvania; two brothers, James Richard (Patty) Underwood of Dixon, KY, and Willie Roscoe Underwood; and three grandchildren, Amber Dawn Thorpe, William Hunter Underwood, and Houston Dane Underwood. \ \ Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Toby DeHay officiating. Burial will follow in Fraser-Blackwell Cemetery in Clay, KY. \ \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be William Underwood Jr., Eric Underwood, Hunter Underwood, Houston Underwood, Bobby Thorpe, and Timmy Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Tapp and Paul Scott. \ \
