Elsie S. McDowell

Adna Elsie S. McDowell, 98, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday November 24, 2017, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing home in Madisonville.
She was born January 2, 1919 in Anton, KY to the late Dave Summers and Annie Higdon Summers. . She was also preceded in death by husband, Marion Weaver McDowell, and two daughters, Linda Earle Pottinger and Betty June McDowell.
she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and retired from Clinic Convalescent Center in Madisonville. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, quilting, reading, U.K. basketball, and visits from friends and family.
She is survived by one sister, Marie Summers Hook of Madisonville, KY; a grandson, Jalin Pottinger; two great-grandchildren, Bell and Jayden Pottinger; a son-in-law, Jan Pottinger; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM. Friday, December1, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Reno officiating. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery in Kevil, KY.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
