Alan Lee Cotton, 44, formerly of Madisonville, KY, was involved in an accident on his job in Greenville, S.C., while working on a cell phone tower. He passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 12:25 P.M. \ \ He was born in Madisonville but moved to Bowling Green, KY and then onto Sumter, S.C. \ \ He is survived by his wife, Karen Hipp Cotton; his daughter, Kellsie Danielle Pillson Cotton of Madisonville, KY; one step-son, Alan Matthew Birdsong and step-granddaughter, La La Birdsong of Ocean City, MD; his mother, Connie Downing of Madisonville; his father, Larry Cotton of Bowling Green, KY; brother, Larry Wayne Cotton and his wife, Whitney Sherrill, of Killeen, TX; a stepdad, Gary Todd of Madisonville, and his special aunt and uncle James and Sue Gibson; plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews. \ \ Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Larry Wayne Cotton, Darrel Downing, James Gibson, Anthony James, and Benji. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Morgan and Ricky Hamby. \ \
