Alma Nellie Slaton

Mrs. Alma Nellie Slaton, 92, of Madisonville, KY, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 9:45 P.M. at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ Born February 18, 1916 in Muhlenberg County, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Monroe Breedlove and Bernie Victoria Downs Breedlove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marion Slaton on October 1, 2007; a daughter, Erma Slaton; two sisters, Laura Buchanan and Agnes Rickard and four brothers, Rich, Hubert, Elvis and Elbert Breedlove. \ She was a housewife and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville. \ Mrs. Slaton is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Strayn of Madisonville; two sons, Dr. Monroe Slaton and Norris Slaton of Madisonville; a brother, Virgil Breedlove of Henderson, KY; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tondra Daugherty and Dr. Monroe Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Browder Cemetery. \ Pallbearers will be Scott Slaton, Jason Slaton, Jared Drennan, Jana Strong, James E. Slaton, John T. Slaton and Susan Marie Slaton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Winstead, Turner Slaton, Lane Slaton, Bailey Slaton, Morgan Strong, Jaiden Strong and Jace Drennan. \ Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and from 1:00 P.M. until the service time on Sunday at the funeral home. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to Gideons International or Sunrise Childrens Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
