Ben Rickard

Ben Rickard, 94, of Madisonville passed away at 8:25 AM on Thursday June 7, 2012 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. \ Mr. Rickard was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Rickard on February 20, 2009, his daughter, Gail Rickard Jarboe on June 29, 1966, one sister, Inell Scott, and one brother, J.C. Rickard in 1971. \ Mr. Rickard was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He retired in May of 1983 as a county road foreman. He was also a World War II Army veteran. \ He is survived by his nephew and caretaker, Marc (Cyndi) Boggs, one son-in-law, James (Betty) Jarboe, nephew, Tim Clark, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Beeny and Rev. J.D. Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Slaughters Cemetery. Military services will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard at the graveside. \ Visitation will be from noon until the service time Saturday, at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Daryl Bryant, Clarence Berry, Johnny Boswell, Billy Tapp, Tim Clark, and Anthony Wilson. \ Memorial contributions can be made to Second Baptist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. \
