Bess Marie Parkest Obituary (1921 - 2005)

Mrs. Bess Marie Parkest, 83, of Poplar Bluff, MO and formerly of Madisonville, KY died at 6:36 P.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. \ Born December 7, 1921 in Hopkins County, KY she was the daughter of the late William Marion Rodgers and Mary Cummings Hailey Rodgers. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Madalyn Elizabeth Sisk. \ She was a self-employed seamstress and had attended the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. \ She is survived by her husband, Rev. Marlin Ray Parkest of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Pat Ancell of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Hattie Veatch Staton of Hanson, KY; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. \ Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. \ Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. \
