Beverly was born on August 10th, 1955 in Frankfort, KY to Raymond and Alice Jean
Poe. She graduated from The University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Science
Degree in Home Economics with high distinction in 1977 and a Masters of Science
Degree in Education with high distinction in 1981. Beverly went on to teach home
economics to junior high and high schoolers for several years. She married David
Yonts on August 3rd, 1985. They had one daughter Angela Yonts who was born in
1990.
Her husband David Yonts, mother Alice Jean Poe, grandmother Lizzie Lee Florian,
and father Raymond Poe preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Angela Yonts. Aunt (Mary Stratton), uncle (Clyde
Stratton), cousins (Carol Landers Luxemburg, Debbie Rutledge, and Scott Stratton),
nieces (Claire, Faith, and Tiffany Yonts), and nephews (Zachary, Thomas Patrick,
James, Matthew, Joshua, Jordan, and Noah Yonts) along with other family members
including brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Beverly has been paid the compliments of being "a true character" and "a one of a
kind person who could never be forgotten" by the people who knew her best. She
was an animated storyteller at heart who couldn't help but talk about the people,
animals, and experiences in her life that mattered most. Beverly enjoyed
volunteering for children and helped out at her daughter's school library for many
years. She loved hard and wouldn't let the people in her life forget it. She sacrificed
so much to make sure her family members were taken of. Beverly was always highly
involved in her daughter's life and showed her undying support even moving out to
California with her the last five years of her life so that Angela could follow her
dreams of becoming an artist and performer. She will be greatly missed.
