Carrie Grace Helm, 90, of Madisonville, KY, passed away at 8:15 P.M. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ \ She was born in Nebo, KY to the late Homer and Florence Buchanan Winstead. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Douglas Helm. \ \ Mrs. Helm attended grade school in Providence, KY and graduated from Central High School in Evansville, IN. Mrs. Helm had also served as the Nebo Postmaster for 30 years. \ \ She was survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Roscoe) Oldham and Nancy (David) Parker, and Peggy Stirsman all of Madisonville; one son, Bob Helm of Eddyville, KY; daughter-in-law, Mila Howell; six grand children, Kimberly Oldham, Sherry (Mark) Towe, Kathy (Larry) Glennon, Marsha (Paul) Padberg, Shawn (April) Helm, and Eric (Lindsey) Helm; and seven great-grand children, Katelyn, Kyle, Cole, Tyler, Carrie, Owen, and Ansley. \ \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Ted Morelock, Bro. George Carmen, and Rev. Jim Lantrip officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Nebo. \ \ Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday and after 12:00 P.M. until the service time on Sunday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Gene Hendricks, Kiah Winstead, Tommy Hobgood, Chip Fountain, Jon Parker, Sterlin Smith, and Harold Penrod. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the Nebo Christian Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. \ \
